Camino de Gastronomía Portuguesa y Gastronomía  Española – Day 9 – Oia to Baiona

Distance Walked: 11.36 miles/ 21.5 kilometers
Total Distance Walked: 87.62 miles/144.25 kilometers
Temperature: 78 F/25 C

It was a beautiful morning but as the day wore on, the temperature rose. It seems Spain is having unusually warm weather for this time of year. Our walk was quite pleasant with several mountain crossings and through rural farm coastal sections.

The coastal Caminho Portuguese is very scenic and peaceful.

Our lunch was along the way and was the usual ensalada mixta with an icy cold beer.

Dinner was in a cute little restaurant at the end of the pier in Baiona. The food was not the best, in fact I thought the calamari was overcooked and the fries were mushy, but the tapas before, the wine during and the beautiful sunset made it a delightful experience.

  2. WOW stunning landscape! Let that sustain you rather than the slightly substandard food 🙂
