It was cool when we started out this morning, in fact we could see our breath for the first 2-3 miles of the walk. It was not a tough walk considering there wasn’t much elevation but it was long.
And the youth on the trail are very loud and rambunctious, it seems to be party hardy along the way. I walked with a fellow from Singapore for some time today who told me the youth are students from the university in Santiago, they are chaperoned by two priests can you believe that? There are 70 students, no I am not exaggerating! It seems like quite a bit more though.
We managed to either stay behind them or in front of them for most of the walk today.
We checked into our hotel and then walked to the wonderful Galician Tavern just over the little bridge in Caldas de Reis only to find it was closed. I have been craving their grilled sardines since we crossed into Spain. I suppose it was not meant to be this time.
We returned to the hotel after having some tapas and a drink in the cafe across the street from the wonderful tavern to shower and get ready for this evening.
We walked to the church to watch the procession for Holy Thursday. We were told it would begin at 7 pm but instead it began at 8 pm. This procession was not as elaborate as the one we saw in A Guarda but was still nice. It seems the video I shot is either too large for WordPress or the WiFi is too slow to upload it, sorry.
