Camino de Gastronomía Portuguesa y Gastronomía  Española – Day 5 – Viana do Castelo

Total Distance Walked:45.2 miles/72.75 kilometers

Today was a rest day here in Viana do Castelo. We all slept in and had a late breakfast, consisting of coffee, orange juice, toast, fruit, cheese and yogurt.

We then walked to the funicular station to ride up to the Santa Luzia Monument. 

After visiting the church we went into the old town of Viana do Castelo for lunch.

A very tasty vegetable soup.

Lin ordered a hamburger; Deb and I had a salad.

Yes there is a hamburger underneath that egg

 

For dinner our choices for the meal were;  veal chop with potatoes or sea bass with potatoes and creme cheese or pizza. We all chose the pizza, Deb and Lin had pizza with chicken and bacon, I had a caprese pizza. They were delicious and we came back to our rooms with 1/2 of each of our portions. Tomorrow we shall bring the remainders along and that will be our lunch or snack on the trail.
