Stay tuned for daily posts of the Choose Happiness Adventures July, 2016 Pilgrimage Tour on the Camino Portuguese Coastal Route.
The group arrives in Porto, Portugal on July 9th. After a free day to explore the old city of Porto, we will begin walking the pilgrimage on July 11th. We will arrive in Santiago de Compostela on July 24th, in time for the Festival celebrating the Feast of Saint James the Greater, the patron Saint of Spain.
As has been my practice in the past, I will post a daily blog as we travel along the Camino. On this tour, my teenage Granddaughter, Kayla will be assisting me. This will be Kayla’s first trip to Europe and just maybe she too will be bitten by the Camino bug. We have had a grand time training together for this trek.
I am hopeful Kayla will add a post-script to each of the daily blogs to lend her perspective to the Camino experience.
So, if you haven’t already subscribed to this blog, why not do so and follow our journey through Portugal and Spain.

Hope Kayla writes her thoughts. My 15 year old granddaughter wamts to walk the Camino next year.

Hi Steve
I’m hoping all is well there in Houston.
We start walking on the 11th from Matosinhos, remember the lovely walk all along the coast? But instead of turning inland we continue all the way to Vigo, Spain along the coast, staying in beach resorts nightly. It should be a nice walk. We even get to ferry across the Minho River separating Portugal and Spain.
Take care,
Arlene

Good to hear, Arlene, that you’re nearly there again and sharing with your granddaughter. I hope it turns out to be THE walk for you both. Janet, Jenny and I had lunch with Bill and Jennifer on Saturday and were wondering when you were off, so it’s good to know and I’ll certainly be following your blog 🙂 Hope you have fun and that the weather is not too hot. Britta,
Yes, just a few days now and we will be off for another Camino adventure. This one should be extra special as we arrive in Santiago in time for all the St. James Day festivities. I’ll keep you posted via the blog.
