Day 5 – 8 August – Casa Julia to Hospital de Bruma

I awakened to rain this morning.  I went down to the cafe for breakfast and eventually my ride back to Casa  Julia to begin the ascent up the steepest climb on the Ingles as the Cicerone Guidebook says.

Well the climb was steep but it switchbacked up so did not seem so steep.  The  views were fabulous and the trail was mostly natural path through the forest.  It rained on and off for most of my time out, but the rain was never heavy.

My thoughts today were thoughts of how lucky I am.  I am able to be here in Galicia walking southward to the Cathedral of St. James without a care in the world.  I am enjoying the blackberries which are all along the trail; they are there for me to enjoy and truly I am.  Wild blackberries, now let me ask what more could a woman want?

I walked for 13 kms straight back to Meson do Vento where I will stay another night before walking onwards to Santiago.  When I arrived back at Meson Novo, the answer to my question above was waiting for me.  This woman was greeted by some ham and Padron peppers (which need I say, I absolutely love!)
