Day 11 – 22 August 2014 – Cee to Olveiroa

Wow, you want to talk about hills to climb! I started the day at the seashore in Cee, that is at sea level.

Immediately the path turned uphill to climb out of town.

By the time I walked 3.6 kms/2.25 miles, I had climbed 271 meters/889 feet.

By 7 kms/4.3 miles the climb was at 310 meters/1,017 feet.

At 12.21 kms/7.5 miles the elevation became 344 meters/1,129 feet.

The climb finally topped out at 370 meters/1214 feet by the time I had reached 13 kms/8 miles.

But the trek was not over,  I still had 7 more kms/4.3 miles to trek before I could rest my feet.

I felt fabulous when I reached familiar ground, the last time I stood at this waymarker I was taking the route to the right to go to Muxia. Now I was approaching from the opposite direction having gone to Muxia and Finisterre and was now on my way back to Santiago.

Today was a long hard day, 20 km/12 miles in all with lots of climbing but I was feeling great. The weather was fantastic, not too warm and wonderfully breezy.

And finally my home for the night.
