I left Casa Loncho in Olvieroa at about 9:15 this morning. It was a cooler morning today than any before but the crispness in the air felt wonderful.
I have walked this route on my way to Muxia so there weren’t any new sites for me. I amused myself with the various farm animals I encountered along the way.
I stood for a while watching a farmer and his dog sitting by a field to where I supposed he had just led his cows.
One had to be very watchful for land mines left behind by those cows lest there could be quite the mess. Yes, the morning air was full of the smell of the country!
I spied this little kitten in a drainage ditch next to the road.
After a while I stopped for a proper pilgrim’s snack,
Followed by a less proper pilgrim’s treat.
The path continued on and on, I began foraging blackberries to add some natural goodness to the morning.
I passed a home that had onions drying in the sunshine.
My final farm animal of the day was Elsie the Cow. She is quite the beauty!
I especially liked this picture. These trees looked feathery to me.
It was a lovely day for walking. I walked my last short distance, 12.5 kms today. The next 2 days into Santiago will both be over 20 kms.
