This morning we walked through the old walled fortress in Valenca. The fortress contained the old walled city of Valenca which today houses many little shops and cafes.
We then crossed the steel bridge and arrived in Spain. The Camino led us through the ancient city of Tui. Again, like Valenca, a very significant historic city.
The Camino finally wound its way to a point where we could either choose to walk the old route which leads through the industrial section consisting of 3 miles on asphalt with many trucks or to take the alternate route created in 2013 through the very scenic Gandaras Natural Area. Naturally all choose the alternate route.

The trek was a long one and as I entered O Porrino, I was hungry and thirsty. I stopped in a bar/cafe and asked for a bocadillo. I was told the kitchen was closed, so I settled on a glass of beer. A few moments later the waitress brought me a plate of pasta with sauce and hard boiled eggs and another plate of cheese. She only charged me for the beer – she truly was a Camino Angel.
