I left Lires this morning after cafe con leche and tostada. As I put on my backpack the proprietor of the Pension handed me a bocadillo for my lunch. I said gracias and was on my way.
For a while the path meandered through Lires but as usual the relentless hills began. The countryside in Galicia is like no other for me. For most of the trek today the sea was peeking through the trees.
I have been very luck with the weather this Camino, there has been absolutely no rain yet on the Camino Muxia/Finisterre and it only rained twice while I walked the Ingles. The temperature has never risen about 80 F and for most of the time there have been puffy white clouds overhead. Perfect weather for walking.
It was only a 14 km walk today but it felt much longer. I passed many peregrinos on their way to Muxia from Finisterre, this was the first time I have seen so many others on the trail and believe me it wasn’t too many at that.
I finally made it into Finisterre and found there still were many, many hills to climb before I arrived at my hotel, which by the way is on the top of yet another hill. I had a beautiful meal of Pasta Fruita de Mare and a couple of glasses of beer before going to my hotel.
Finisterre is a lovely very busy seaside resort town, nothing at all like Muxia. Tomorrow I will put my feet in the sea once again. And who knows, I may even burn a piece of clothing by the lighthouse (hopefully I’ll get there this evening).
Congratulations Arlene, you made it!!!!!!!!
Never a doubt.

Congrats!
The scenery is just beautiful! Love the beach and the palm trees. I do believe I could live there. Right on the hill in the first picture or maybe next to the bar with the beer and pasta or maybe that white sandy beach. Too many choices.:)
