I am on top of the world, literally the top of the Camino! Wow, JE SUIS FEMME, RUGIR!
Today started out climbing and continued to do so until I reached O Cebreiro. The sights were breathtaking.
I loved every step of this day. I watched the cows grazing, the river flowing, the cats lounging and the Peregrinos who paid 20 euros to have a horse carry them up the climb.
Once at the top, I checked into the Hotel El Cebreiro and had menu del dia.
I climbed for 11.78 miles/19 kms today in 4 hours without counting stops.
I love the Caldo! Wonderful pictures and lucky you for a fog-less summit. Ingrid

Looks good. I rode the horses and loved it!!! I will riding was not easy…it was still work…had to become one with the horse and your pack. I highly recommend it!!

That part of the walk is so incredibly beautiful, isn’t it Arlene? I found it very overwhelming. So you’re going to have horses accompanying you into Santiago? How fantastic! Bill

I did the same short day you did for the climb. That is the way to do it.

Hi Arlene,
So sorry I’ve been so silent. Just returned from a week away with Steve, following my Camino Benefit talk here in PS. It took so much more out of me than I expected.
I’m going to catch up on your blog over the next few days. So glad you are enjoying yourself and that you’ve not allowed the weather to affect you the way it did us !! Good for you!! Best to you.
Sending love,
Xoxo

Beautiful scenery along the way most likely makes it go quicker and easier and the sites do look so pretty…………….the food, not so much!
