If you have been following my blog, it is probably evident to you that I am not happy living in Arizona. Actually, I feel like an orphan in a foreign country or a square peg trying to be fit into a round hole. My house is up for sale so that I can attempt to correct what I consider one of my largest mistakes in life. It has been for sale since May of this year without much activity at all.
When I moved to Arizona, I made the drive cross-country with my two cats, Benny and Damian. Last year on October 16th, Benny developed kidney failure and had to be euthanized. That was a very sad day for me, but Benny was almost 20 years old and had lived a long life as far as cat’s lives go. His loss left a hole in my life.
Thankfully, I still had Dami – she has been a loving pet since my son Paul brought her home as a kitten when his tour of duty with the Marines ended. Sadly, Dami also got very ill, lost 5 pounds, became very lethargic and finally yesterday had to be euthanized. Now, the only constant love, devotion and companionship that I had in Arizona is gone. I feel a great loss.
Rest in peace my pets.
Dear Arlene:
I am so sorry to hear about the death in your family. The house must seem so empty!

Patricia, thank you for your thoughts – yes, the house as well as my life is empty right now. Hopefully, the house will sell, I can make my way back to the East and rescue a few more kitties once I am settled. Pets truly enrich our lives. Again, thank you.

Arlene,
So sorry to hear about Dami. Such a loss when our companions leave us. Just saw her less than 2 weeks ago! Glad she is not suffering. May you find peace in knowing that you were enriched by your cat and will rescue more.
Sincerely,
Tami
